Thank you, Mr. President. Since July 20th, 1999, the government of the People’s Republic of China has engaged in systematic persecution to eradicate the Chinese spiritual practice Falun Gong. The then state leader Jiang Zemin gave the order to ruin the reputation Falun Gong practitioners, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically.
As of December 31st, 2024, 1167 deaths of Falun Gong practitioners have been confirmed and documented in detail. In 2024 alone, there are 164 documented death cases …

We are currently holding a general debate on the update provided by the HC, it is thus expected that participants refer to the HC statement ,comments stemming out of his oral update are in order. In this context, speakers may refer to specific situations by way of example. I am therefore giving back the floor to the speaker asking him to take my comments into due account. Thank you.
Mr. Lebin Ding： Thank you, Mr. President. In 2024 alone, there are 164 documented death cases and 764 sentenced cases. A typical example is the description of Mr. Ding Yuande who’s immediate release the European Parliament adopted a European Parliament resolution on January 18th, 2024.
In 2019, the China Tribunal in London concluded that forced organ harvesting had taken place in China for years on a significant scale with Falun Gong practitioners being the principal concern of this ongoing crime against humanity. Both the European Parliament resolution and the Falun Gong Protection Act passed by the US Congress aimed to impose sanctions on perpetrators of the persecution Falun Gong.
In October 2022, the government of the PRC ordered a new global strategy against the Falun Gong including disinformation campaigns and a so-called lawfare strategy.
We want to call upon the United Nations Human Rights Council to appoint a special rapporteur on forced organ harvesting in China to strongly urge the Chinese government to release Mr. Ding and all Falun Gong practitioners and all other prisoners of conscience and to investigate China’s transnational repression against Falun Gong practitioners and all human rights defenders abroad.
