Mr vice president. We expressed grave concern over Thailand’s decision to forcibly return at least 40 Uyghurs individuals back to the People’s Republic of China.
We have serious concerns that this is a violation of Thailand’s obligations under the convention against torture and other cruel,inhuman,or degrading treatment or punishment.
We call all countries to respect the principle of non refoulement forms and to protect those at real risk of torture, forced disappearances and political persecution.
We urge the Chinese government to respect and protect the human rights of the 40 Uyghur individuals returned to China.
