President. Ladies and gentlemen, since the 1990s and particularly in the 21st century, the deepening of neoliberalism and globalization has led to severe wealth disparity and socioeconomic inequality in many countries, especially Western nations.
This situation has not only significantly undermined the economic and social rights of the general population but has also profoundly impacted the civil and political rights that Western countries emphasized.
The rise of extreme nationalism, populism, acute political polarization, and social fragmentation serve as clear evidence. Severe socioeconomic inequality has become the root cause of global instability.Living populations in many countries are trapped in the dilemma of experiencing both want and fear.
Therefore, we urge nations to transcend ideological disputes on human rights and concentrate their efforts on resolving the grave inequality in economic and social rights.
