We wish to extend our condolences to the brothers and sisters in Morocco and in Libya. We thank the High Commissioner for the oral update, we share the view relating to the challenges in protecting and respecting human rights throughout the world today. We would encourage the Council to promote the establishment of an environment that is conducive to genuine cooperation and dialogue so that we can put an end to the practice of selectivity and double standards.
We see today a policy where some countries have their finger pointed at them and are singled out for criticism. And that includes Burundi.And sometimes this criticism is based on false information.It’s a practice that must cease.
We support the situation of China in terms of ensuring that it is possible for people there to express their views and we express our support for the principles that are upheld by China.
We also recognize that Tibet and other autonomous regions are inter-groups of China. We believe that promotion and protection of human rights is essential for all and we therefore call the council to put an end also to the practice of adopting resolutions that single out particular countries and the politicized its mechanisms.Thank you.
