The Philippines warmly welcomes China’s delegation.
We recognize China’s strong advocacy for the right to development in the multilateral sphere and laud its determined efforts to operationalize this right domestically resulting in significant gains in poverty alleviation. We also acknowledge the protection mechanisms put in place for foreign migrant workers, especially in Hong Kong SAR.
In a constructive spirit, we recommend that China continue to:
- Strengthen access to remedy mechanisms for foreign migrant workers;
- Expand access to education and healthcare of children, especially those in rural areas, with disability and others in situations of vulnerability; and
- Enhance human rights education in the primary and secondary levels.
