Samoa extends our appreciation to the delegation of China for their report and welcomes them to Geneva. We further commend China’s achievement in completing all goals in the 2016-2020 National Human Rights Action Plan, and significant contributions towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda locally and worldwide.
Our recommendations are as follows,
- Ratify the Convention on Enforced Disappearances,
- Ratify the TPNW (Treaty on the Probition of Nuclear Weapons)
- Scale up climate mitigation measures to ensure that global commitments are met.
- Continue to uphold the goals and principles of the UNFCC and its Paris Agreement, and considerably reduce fossil fuel consumption.
We wish every success to China in the UPR cycle.
