33rd Meeting 58th Session of Human Rights Council UN Web TV
– General debate on agenda item 3 (Cont’d)
International Career Support Association, Mr. Shunichi Fujiki
发言内容:
Thank you Mr. President.
In China, freedom of expression is not a right but a controlled privilege. Strict censorship, surveillance and harsh punishments silence dissent. Foreign platforms like X, Facebook, YouTube are blocked and AI driven censorship monitors online activity, even VPNs are now restricted.
Religious freedom is also under attack, millions of Uighur Muslims have been sent to the concentration camps and underground churches face crackdowns. Leaders like Father Wang Yi has been imprisoned simply for practicing their faith.
Even publishing censored in 2023, two men were sentenced just for publishing love poetry without government approval. Mr. President, this is the reality where even the most innocent expression requires state permission. Chinese government creates the illusion of freedom but the real dissent is silenced.
We call on this council to take following actions:
1. Launch an independent investigation into Chinese suppression of free speech and religious persecution.
2. Demands the immediate release of all prisoners of conscience.
3. Hold China accountable for violating fundamental human rights.
Mr. President, silence enables oppression. The world must stand against censorship and defend the right to speak freely. Thank you very much Mr. President.
