We thank the High Commissioner for his global update.
Last year.We commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the 30th anniversary of the Vienna Declaration plan of action.This was a unique occasion for presenting progress achieved in recent decades and to look forward to the future of human rights and tackle current challenges in this regard.
We commend China’s commitment to promoting human rights,including the right to development.We reiterate the principles of the United Nations Charter and the reasons why the council was established, so that we have a debate far removed from politicization selectivity and double standards.
Presidents, we must be able to reiterate the importance of respecting people’s cultural diversity.They should never be used as a pretext for interfering in the rights of people’s imposing a single vision.China’s territorial integrity must be respected and it must be able to choose its policies in view of this context, the needs of its peoples.Thank you.
