We urge China to respond meaningfully to the recommendation made by the Committee on Economic,Social,and Cultural Rights and other bodies, of which reports of on going large scale campaign to redicate Tibetan culture and language.
Recognizing my own country’s experience with residential schools, we’re alarmed by reports of a coerced residential school system imposed on Tibetan children.
We urge China to engage and respond meaningfully to the UN recommendation recommendations, including those stemming from the assessment of OHCHR on the situation in Xinjiang.
Canada will continue to raise these and other human rights concerns and encourage the utmost respect for all human rights.
