Mr. President,
We congratulate the distinguished delegation of China on the presentation of their national report and commend their efforts in guaranteeing all ethnic groups equal enjoyment of rights in accordance with the law.
We further commend efforts towards upholding the principles of respect for sovereignty of States and non-interference in the internal affairs of Member States. We reaffirm our support for the One-China policy.
The implementation of over 110 development cooperation projects under the 2030 Agenda in nearly 60 developing countries, including Zambia, is highly commendable.
We wish to make the following recommendations to China:
- Deepen the comprehensive reform of the judicial system and fully implement the judicial responsibility system;
- Strengthen efforts in protecting the ecological environment in light of its interdependence with human rights; and
- Adopt a unified legal concept of disability that is aligned with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
We wish China a successful review.
