Review of China
السيد الرئيس،
نرحب بحرارة بوفد جمهورية الصين الشعبية الموقر برئاسة سعادة السفير شين زوو، ونُثني على التزام الصين الراسخ بقضية حقوق الإنسان عالمياً وعلى مبادراتها الرامية إلى تعزيز الحوار البنّاء بهذا الشأن. نُشيد بالاهتمام الذي توليه لتحسين ظروف الحياة ومستويات المعيشة لشعب إقليم شينجيانغ، ونُلاحظ بإيجابية ارتفاع معدلات الإنفاق العام المخصصة لمشاريع تحسين مستويات التوظيف والتعليم وخدمات الرعاية الطبية والضمان الاجتماعي والإسكان.
وفي سياق الحوار والتعاون البناء نوصي:
1. الاستمرار في اتباع استراتيجية وطنية استباقية تستجيب لشيخوخة السكان، وفي تطوير برامج وخدمات رعاية المسنين، وتقديم خدمات أفضل لمن يعيش منهم بمفرده، والتأكد من أن الرعاية الأساسية للمسنين متاحة لجميع المسنين.
2. الاستمرار في تسريع تطوير صناعة الأجهزة المساعدة لإعادة التأهيل.
نتمنى للصين استعراضاً موفقاً.
Mr. President,
We warmly welcome the distinguished delegation of the People’s Republic of China, headed by H. E. Ambassador CHEN Xu, and commend China’s firm commitment to the cause of human rights globally, and its initiatives to promote constructive dialogue in this regard. We applaud China for attaching importance to the improving of the living standards of the people of Xinjiang, and we positively note the increasing rates of public spending allocated to projects to improve levels of employment, education, medical care services, social security and housing.
In spirit of constructive dialogue we recommend:
1. Continue to pursue a proactive strategy in response to population ageing, develop elderly care programs and services, provide better services for elderly people who live alone, and ensure that basic elderly care is accessible to the entire elderly population.
2. Continue to accelerate the development of the rehabilitation assistive device industry.
We wish China a successful review.
