The Republic of Serbia welcomes the delegation of the People’s Republic of China at the UPR’s Session and thanks it for presenting its National Report.
Serbia commends the People’s Republic of China for its dedication to the UPR process, welcoming its achievement of the poverty reduction target of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development ten years ahead of schedule, its accession to the 1930 Convention on Forced Labour and the 1957 Convention on the Abolition of Forced Labour, the amendment of the Law on the Protection of Human Rights to include a definition of discrimination against women, as well as for integrating the human rights education into the curriculum standards of primary and secondary schools.
We recommend the People’s Republic of China to continue providing public-welfare legal services for migrant workers, as well as its effective combating of human trafficking. We encourage the People’s Republic of China to continue its active cooperation with the United Nations human rights mechanisms.
