Mr. Vice President,
Over two decades after adopting DDPA, many critical challenges still hinder its full implementation. Some countries still lack political will and continue to evade historical responsibilities.
Geopolitical conflicts, protectionism and hegemonism intensify racism and xenophobia. New forms of racism, such as cyber hate speech and online bullying based on race, have become new challenges.
The Global Civilization Initiative, proposed by China, calls for respect for the diversity of civilizations, helping break down cultural barriers.
UNA-China urges all nations to act in unison, prioritize inclusive development and promote cross-cultural dialogue to remove the root causes of racism and discrimination.
The UN should play a leading role in speeding up the implementation of the DDPA and strengthening digital governance and bridging the development divide to enable scientific and technological innovations, such as AI, to better benefit all mankind.
