In China, the atrocities in Xinjiang committed by PRC authorities continue unabated. We urge the PRC government to implement the recommendations in the High Commissioner’s 2022 assessment on Xinjiang, along with those from UN human rights mechanisms and the UPR. We remain concerned about the ongoing destruction of Tibetans’ cultural, linguistic, and religious heritage, among other abuses, as well as the dismantling of civil, political, and democratic freedoms in Hong Kong inconsistent with the ICCPR.
