Your Excellency, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today I present the case of Balochistan,which is an information blackhole for rest of the world regarding human rights violations and exploitation of the resources.
I stand before you to sheld light on the ongoing exploitation of Balochistan’s rich resources by external forces.
For decades, Balochistan’s resources are being plundered without the consent of the people of Balochistan, projects like Saindak Copper-Gold mine project, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC) has been driven by the interest of Pakistan and China, extracting minerals and wealth by leaving the local population in poverty and forced to migrate from the China and Pakistani Economic Corridor route on the name of security.
Thousands of indigenous Baloch,men,women and children have been forced to migrate to the neighboring countries.
Now a Canadian company called Barrick Gold has joined this alliance, further stripping the minerals of Balochistan .That exploitation is not only an economic interest injustice, but a violation of fundamental rights of the people of Balochistan, they have been denied the rightful ownership and sold their land and pushed aside.
It’s time for the world to recognize these injustices and demand that the people of Balochistan be given the power and authority to decide their future.
