大概内容:
Thank you, mister vice president. Australia is proud founding member of the Universal Declaration on human rights drafted by representatives from across the world. yet 75 years on agreed and longstanding human rights norms and principles are being challenged, universality, equality and non discrimination are enshrined in the UDHR human rights applied to all individuals, no matter who they are or where they happen to be born,。
We strongly condemn acts of violence and discrimination against individuals because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
We are appalled that the Ugandan government has signed the deeply discriminatory Anti homosexual bill 2023 in the law where individuals could potentially face the death penalty.
Australia is gravely concerned about the surge of conflict related violence including reports of widespread sexual violence against women and girls in Sudan.
We are appalled by the oppression of human rights in Iran. We strongly condemned the ongoing systematic persecution of women and girls and the oppression of ethnic and religious minorities.
Australia also remains deeply concerned about the continuing erosion of rights and freedoms in Hong Kong and the broad application of the national security law. Human rights defenders continue to operate under a high risk of intimidation and reprisals. The trajectory of shrinking civic space must be immediately reversed.
