Kuan Yang speaking on behalf of the China society for human rights studies, the slave trade and slavery are the most worst human rights violations and the darkest period of human history.
Nowadays,traditional slavery has been abolished in law,but it’s harmful effects are far from eliminated.Slavery has developed into many contemporary forms.
At present in some countries and regions, Minorities,indigenous peoples,immigrants and others still suffer from serious discrimination and harm.and These groups are also the main victims of content temporary slavery in these countries and regions.There have been many fierce repression and hatred towards specific countries,religious and racism.These are all important reasons why contemporary slavery still exists.
I believe that in order to eliminate the profound impact of slavery,the international community must act together,especially those countries that have historically participated in slavery and benefited from it.
They should take practical actions and shoulder their due historic responsibility.
